Strawberry Sauce recipe

This sauce is perfect with our <a href="/strawberry-and-cream-cake.html">strawberry and cream cake</a> and our <a href="/rainbow-cake.html">rainbow cake</a>.


  • 1 punnet of strawberries, or equal amount of frozen strawberries
  • 4 tbsp. caster sugar
  • 4 tbsp. water
  • 2 tsp. vanilla

Method of Preparation:

  1. Remove the leaves from the strawberries and quarter them.

  2. Put them into a saucepan along with the sugar, water and vanilla.

  3. Mash the strawberries in the pan with a potato masher and then cook until the sauce has thickened slightly.

  4. Either pass the sauce through a sieve or leave it as it is to serve.
