Choccy Cake recipe

This cake is incredibly easy Ė itís made in the same tin as itís cooked in, minimising the washing up too! The sauce is cooked within the cake, so you donít even need to make one!

Ingredients:

  • 150g sugar
  • 125g plain flour
  • 200g dark brown sugar
  • 6 tbsp. cocoa powder
  • 415ml hot water
  • 125ml milk
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp. vegetable oil
  • 115g chopped walnuts

Method of Preparation:

  1. Grease a 23cm square cake tin. Preheat the oven to 180C.

  2. In the tin, stir together the sugar, flour, baking powder and 2 tbsp. of the cocoa powder.

  3. Mix in the milk, vanilla extract, and oil until smooth. Stir the walnuts into the mixture.

  4. Spread the mixture out well with a spatula.

  5. Sprinkle with the dark brown sugar, 4 tbsp. cocoa powder and then pour hot water over it.

  6. Cook the cake for forty minutes and then once cooked and cooled, cut it into squares.
